Disc Jockey: DJ Joachim

DJ Joachim
Joachim a.k.a. DaGrooveSurgeon is also the founder of Twisted Ninjas, a diverse team of DJs from Singapore, Japan and the UK.

Brought up by an audiophile in Singapore, Joachim’s musical influences goes back to his toddling years when his late father dished out 70’s Funk, Soul, Jazz and Motown vinyls on a Marantz turntable. Separated from the defunct indie band "Produkt" in 2000, Joachim pushed on with an avid mind to promote distinct music and went solo as a DJ. He has since graced the decks in various establishments; specifically geared towards the creative industry and odd fashion events in Singapore.

The sheer artistry and versatility Joachim exhibits in his music as a DJ has always been propelled by a deep passion for all things funk and soul since he was young, as well as a vast knowledge of dance music from decades past and present spearheaded by an unquenchable thirst for more. His ability to whip any party to raucous new heights, rooted in his keen reading of the crowd and an innate sense for music selection, has made Joachim a much sought-after talent in reputable clubs and bars since the late 90s, where he has won hearts from every venue he has set foot on.

From funk-infused varieties of Deep & Soulful House to Top40s, Mashups and distinct Progressive House remixes, Joachim incorporates spontaneous overlays of everything from 80s reworks to Rock acapellas to scratching in his often-surprising, ever- invigorating sets.
