Musicians: UMAIRAH

UMAIRAH
Nur Umairah is the daughter of a local musician from a band known in the malay music industry, Klutz, Shafiq Kamis, who is also known for his award winning songs aired on the local radio. As a child, Umairah showed a strong interest in music, teaching herself to play many instruments. When she was 8, she started to perform along side with her father infront of some 6000 crowd at fort canning. His father posted her performance on YouTube, and continued to post other clips of Umairah singing. And soon got an offer to record her voice for a local kids show Aksi Mat Yoyo in 2012.

In 2013 Umairah entered her school’s idol competition, Jiemin idol. She won the competition and was anounced as the first Jiemin Idol that year. Since then, her singing journey became more serious.  She started to get small acting rolls in Mat Yoyo and soon got her first acting job with Suria channel for a TV drama "SOS". 
 
2014 was when her stars started to shine on her when she contributed her voice in a song writing competition that got the song up 3rd placing and she started to get media attention for her small build but big voice. Her school then starts to send her for 3 national singing competition which she won 1st in 2 and 1 runner up. She was offered to be an embassador of an established local dance musical group ’Singapore Show Choir". Invited for numerous events including singing programmes with Suria channel and Ria89.7fm.
