Identifying most strongly as a vocalist, Juni took part in The Sing-Off China in 2012 with Asia’s top vocal band, MICappella, coming in runners-up. They then went on to make history by being the first-ever vocal band to be nominated for 4 awards in the 18th Annual Singapore Hit Awards (新加坡金曲奖) and received the prestigious Media Recommendation Award for Local Artistes. From local stages, like the Singapore Indoor Stadium and the Marina Bay Floating Platform, to international stages in USA, Europe, China and other S.E.A. countries, Juni has conquered them all as a vocalist. Holding an honours degree in Theatre Studies from the National University of Singapore, his work ethics and relentless energy sees Juni landing lead roles in theatre productions such as Paper Monkey Theatre’s The Legend of Nezha, and Esplanade and Dingyi Music Company’s A Legend Begins, where he took on the role of the protagonist, Prince Sang Nila Utama. As a bilingual emcee, he has hosted for countless weddings, roadshows and most recently, for OCBC Day 2015 at Universal Studios Singapore. Nevertheless, Juni’s strengths lie in live performance and his natural charisma shines through his soaring vocals and the ease at which he carries himself in front of an audience, a result of more than a decade of performing experience. His repertoire comprises of energetic pop rock numbers, as well as pop jazz and evergreens, in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien.
